OSP - OFB Service Programs
To simplify and support the usage of the OFB corresponding
"OFB Service Programs" were developed. These are:
A User Guide for these programs is available at the Download area.
System Requirements, Installation & Update
|
|
This program is part of the OFB Program package and will be installed by the "ofb-setup.exe" including all other programs of the package. This file is available at the Download area. All details of system requirements, installation and update are listed at the appropriate menu item of "Our Family Book".
Licensing & Copyrights
|
|
Because the programs are part of the OFB Program package, the same copyright and license conditions are valid as defined for the OFB in the OFB User Guide.
A license for the these OFB Service Programs is not required, they haven't to be activated.
The OFB Start Center (OFB-Start.exe) allows from a central point the start of all OFB programs and also the Gedcom service programs, if the OFB license includes these programs. Also from here the license can be activated, an automated update of the programm package, the User Guides downloaded and moved to the correct folder, the languages defined and the OFB Program package installed to an USB stick.
See the Service Program user guide for further details.
OFB Color/Font Management
|
|
The program (OFB-ColorFont.exe) is used to create and manage
color and font definitions and the related files (ocf-files) for a
screen output of the OFB lists. The printer output
will always be in black and white.
By a color dialog screen the various colors can be defined easily
and a font dialog allows the definition of font names, size and style.
In addition the color of the genealogy symbols may be defined.
See the user guide for further details.
Gedcom Profile Management
|
|
The program (OFB-GedcomProfil.exe) is used to create and manage the
different Gedcom profiles and the related profile files (ogp-files) of the
OFB. These Profile files are storing the rules for the transition of the
genealogical data of the ged-files to the OFB. During importing of the
ged-file by the OFB the data will be interpreted and transferred
accordingly. Without such profile files the OFB can't process the genealogy
data.
The Gedcom subject is a complex item. Therefor a base knowledge to a
certain extent is required to use the program.
The OFB is based on the definitions of the Gedcom specification 5.5.
In addition most parts of the Draft Specification 5.5.1 and 5.5-EL are implemented.
A detailled description of the Gedcom topic and of the Gedcom tags
managed by the OFB is available at the OFB Service Program User guide, chapter profile management.
